From timeless old Tahoe style cabins, to jaw dropping lakefront estates, North Lake Tahoe real estate has something for everyone. The North Shore of Lake Tahoe offers hiking, biking, beaches, restaurants, bars, shopping and much more! This area spans from Kings Beach to Tahoe City on the CA side of the lake, and includes Tahoe City, Dollar Point, Cedar Flat, Carnelian Bay, Agate Bay, Tahoe Vista, Kings Beach, Brockway and Crystal Bay.
This area generally has more sun and less snow than other areas around the lake. Starting in Tahoe Vista and going east is known as the “sun belt” and has access to some of the lake’s most wonderful sandy beaches. In the summer months the streets, trails and beaches are filled and the communities are bustling. Ride your bike along the 3-miles of paved path that goes from Dollar Point into Tahoe City or keep cycling along the Truckee River to Squaw Valley. It’s a busy trail in summer, but worth the ride. Tahoe City is also home to the mouth of the Truckee River, Historic Fanny Bridge, The Old Watson Cabin, and The Gatekeepers Cabin Museum and Historic Park. www.northtahoemuseums.org
During the peak winter months you will find people ducking in and out of ski/snowboard shops or cozying up by a fire with warm drinks and a fun festive atmosphere. Tahoe City is in close proximity to Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley and Homewood Ski areas, while Kings Beach is close to Northstar, Mount Rose and Diamond Peak. Both communities feature outdoor activities during the warmer months such as concerts on the beach or in the park, farmer’s markets and movie nights. You’ll also find multiple points where you can launch your boat for a fun day on the lake!
