Happy Holidays All! December is jam packed with local events, concerts, plays and Nutcracker ballets, ice skating evenings with hot cocoa and somemores…and if the snows that are promised even as I write this appear, the opening of ski season.
Tocatta is doing their annual Messiah Concerts, the Truckee Community Chorus is doing a seasonal program featuring the Truckee Tahoe Youth Chorus and the local Christmastime Strings. The Truckee Community Theater will be doing a fun Christmas program including a version of It’s A Wonderful Life.
Take a look at our December Events Calendar so you won’t miss a thing.
No doubt I’ll have to add to it as the month progresses, but do be sure to check out your favorite ski areas and haunts as well to see what good times they’re planning on for this holiday season. There is sure to be Santa sightings and torchlight parades, Christmas carols and New Years Eve Celebrations all around.
If the weather is clear and you’re up to the drive off the hill, The Pioneer Theater in Reno has plenty of seasonal fare to get you in the spirit, and heading west, you can do some outdoor festival shopping and noshing in both Nevada City’s Victorian Christmas and Grass Valley’s Cornish Christmas.
So pencil in the fun things to do. If you live in the area, you know just how fast this month goes and you tend to miss things you really want to do as the days fly by.
